Scam warning

Scammers target crypto users with fake websites, impersonation and "guaranteed" returns — and some pretend to be CryptoChakra. Here is how to protect yourself.

Common crypto scams

Impersonation

Fraudsters pose as CryptoChakra staff, exchange support or well-known influencers, often claiming there is a problem with your account that needs your seed phrase to fix.

Fake websites and phishing

Look-alike sites and adverts steal logins and seed phrases. Check the address carefully and use bookmarks for important sites.

Investment scams

Promises of guaranteed or unusually high returns, "secret strategies" or exclusive opportunities. No legitimate investment can guarantee profit.

Giveaway scams

"Send 1, get 2 back." Real projects never ask you to send funds to receive a giveaway or airdrop.

Romance and friendship scams

Someone builds trust over weeks on a dating app or social media, then introduces a "platform" where you appear to make money — until you try to withdraw.

Recovery scams

After a loss, "recovery agents" offer to get your money back for an upfront fee. They are usually the same criminals or others working the same victims.

How to protect yourself

  • Never share your seed phrase or private keys — with anyone, for any reason
  • Verify anyone who contacts you through official channels you find yourself
  • Use a unique password and app-based two-factor authentication on every account
  • Be sceptical of urgency, secrecy and guaranteed returns
  • Check whether a firm is authorised on the FCA Register and its ScamSmart warning list

If you have been targeted

Stop all contact and do not send more money. In the UK, report fraud to Action Fraud (or Police Scotland on 101) and contact your bank straight away if you paid by card or transfer. If someone is impersonating CryptoChakra, please tell us so we can warn others.
